Scanned film images from 1982 Alpine Texas.
My family, parents, sister, grand mother, lived in Alpine Texas back then. Alpine is the gateway to the Big Bend and just down the road from Fort Davis where McDonald observatory is.
Now these do not look as good as the printed film images but maybe a better scanner would make better images. So, there is a grainy look on some of them. I thought why not post and share.
The image of the wind mill is my favorite. The printed image is very sharp and good.
White tail deer everywhere. They would come in to town and ate from my fathers garden. But, the day deer hunting season opens, you cannot find one anywhere. They just seem to know.
Brings back memories of my uncle's ranch in Ft. Stockton.

Thank you Dennis. Yea, this was 1982 and we were young. I was 31 then. Yea she was hot for sure. We had two more sons, but, Unfortunately things changed. We have divorced for 20 years, I wish did not go that way but such is life. Thank you for the kind words and viewing this post. It is in no way the quality images I regularly see here.

I really love your shots, and it certainly looks like a beautiful place in which to live 🤎🤎🤎🤎

Thank you Joe.
Yes it is a lovely place and a lot of rich people live just right out of the main town. It is called Sun Valley.
Why ? This is one of the few places survivable if a nuclear war happens and most of the houses are below ground.
Clean air and water.
My family finally bailed out years later because of their age and being so remote, they wanted to be back at their base home in Irving because of the hospitals and basic health care available.
It is nice there but not for me, I am too spoiled.

The last photo, very nice!
I know the area well. Thanks for posting. My wife grew up there and her dad operated a custom butcher shop meat locker plant there for many years. We go back as often as we can. They do have beautiful sunsets.
