Saxony, Germany -- Diesel Miscellania...
Some friends of mine give me grief over so many steam train photos. So for them I say here are some miscellaneous pix of diesel equipment encountered in the Saxony neighborhoods during my latest trip to Germany.
I was traveling with a buddy who knew the nomenclature, history and workings of all below. Not me. So there are no individual captions, except for the Dresden shot.
All I can tell you is some trains were colorful, some were old, decrepit and rusting, some were new and in service, some were museum pieces, and some were all of the above.

Interesting. The Trains pictured differ greatly from what I am used to in the USA. All but one engine anyway (7th image), that one looks the same as a model found here.

Yes indeed! A lot of the trains were from the old East Germany, the communist bloc countries, the old USSR, etc...
