Nice!! I really like #1. I can see this photo used several ways for advertising.
Dodie
Thank you so much for your kind words BassmanBruce...
They are truly appreciated... Albeit all credit here goes to the entire team...
The synergy on this session was above amazing!
Dodie I totally agree on your choice here...
All team members added the first image to their portfolios...
The wardrobe styling seemed to take the narrative entirely to the next level...
Thank you so much for your thoughts on these renderings...
And I also agree on "...They deserve to be honored and remembered..." from your recent post "Memorial Day".
Here in America we have such a proud heritage... And owe our freedom to so many who paid the ultimate price in defending it...
Wishing you all the best on your journey Dodie
Your work is spectacular Thomas. I always look forward to your shots. The consummate pro.
Thank you so much for your continued support Ava'sPapa...
Your very kind thought are always truly appreciated...
Wishing you much joy on this longest day of the year...
Happy Summer Solstice!
I see great life in your photos Thomas. Kudos to the whole tem, but the photographer "sees" and makes the shot.
Thank you so much for your very kind words Alafoto... They are truly appreciated especially coming from a skilled photographer. Yes I totally agree it's on the photographer to "see" and make the shot.
Albeit I've found that the Model reflected the focused skill and care that went into her masterful Hair Styling (in this series) which seemed to empowered her to take the narrative entire to a higher level... Synergy does strange and wonderful things on set which I'm certain you've experience since you also are coming from a "Studio" environment.
I saw your offerings on the UHH Buy/Sell forum for Elinchrom Studio Flash Osram Halogen Modeling Lamps so I'm keenly aware of your studio expertise. Do you miss Studio work Alafoto?
Funny how Studio is my only option now (my GP just signed off on a DMV Parking Placard and changed it from Temporary to Permanently Disabled... She was very tactful and didn't mention this change, I only discovered it when I was senting it in. Oh well... I love my studio and cherish that I still can practice my craft.
Some times when one door closes another opens... so the Glass is indeed Half Full!
Thank you again Alafoto... Wishing you all the best on your journey...
Excellent images and teamwork Thomas.
Don
Thomas, first of all, my name is Jim. Second I envy you your experiences in very high level photography. I did enjoy studio work, and like you, my physical condition finally caught up with me, greatly limiting my ability to be on my feet. It's hard to give up the practice of a lifetime that fed and educated my family and brought me great personal enjoyment and satisfaction. I'm extremely glad that although your scope has become necessarily limited, you are still able to use the talent and knowledge that you seem to have devoted yourself to acquiring.
The modeling lamps were among a bunch of leftovers that have accumulated in my garage. I still have a monstrously heavy Photogenic power pack and four light heads in a cabinet, along with a posing stool and posing table, some soft boxes, etc. Just the detritus of long career.
It's great that your glass is at least half full. You take care, keep on doing what you do so well and keep insisting on excellence in your work. I'm 77 and my journey is nearing completion, but thank you for the well wishes, Be safe.
Jim thank you so much for getting back to me on your journey in the photographic arts...
It is very kind of you to share in this thread... btw, we are indeed the same age... I'm just a year or so older.
Your Photogenic power pack and heads are extremely robust and built to last...
As a member of the ASMP I had the privilege of assisting many of the top commercial shooters in my market (Washington DC) and remember struggling with those and other monstrous units of lighting equipment trying to get them on hand carts, into old elevators and setup *primarily for architectural renderings in many of the "historic" venues throughout DC. However those challenging times were absolutely priceless in gleaning knowledge from the "Best of the Best" in the Richmond, Washington DC and Baltimore markets. Looking back I cherish the blood sweat and tears latent within 14 hours days on location. Also the Per Diem rates back then were stellar and I was grinning all the way to the bank. :)
Again my very best wishes for your health and happiness moving forward...
"Only that day dawns to which we awake. There are more days to dawn... The sun is but a morning star"
Believe Henry David Thoreau got that right... Positive words I live by... One day at a time.
Don thank you again for your continued support.... I always love when you visit my post in as I'm reminded of your stellar imagery of those epic classic British Sports Cars on your flickr feed. Noticed you have a stellar rendering of a 1953 XK 120 Jaguar! I use to car pool into Washington DC with a chap who had one... Loving my commute! BTW, the first car I owned was a 1953 Hillman Minx rag top... Awesome ride provided it didn't rain... It's electrons constantly shorted out in wet weather... lol But it was my first and loved it dearly...
Please continue to add to your flickr feed, those stellar images take me back to days of future past and all the joy they filled my world with... Cheers! Thomas
