I know…I know. I shouldn’t. But………
They are a lot more efficient there than on my end. Item left China within 2 days. Arrived in Canada a little over three days ago and hasn’t moved since. It’s about three hours from me just sitting there.

I stopped buying from China years ago. If you have any problems good luck getting it resolved. If it's not thru Ebay your on your own. I've rarely heard them paying for return postage even if the item is defective. Sometimes they don't even respond to emails. Just my experience.

I’ve had good luck so far. One item was replaced and I never had to return the the original. It wasn’t thru eBay…..Amazon.

I frequently buy on-line. Generally my experiences are positive. I've had outstanding success buying from Japan, and disappointing success buying from China.

IMO, there needs to be an international law that would require all internet sales to include: Country or Origin, Point of Shipping, Estimated delivery date, and Tracking Method. I like to know where the item was made, where the shipping warehouse is located, the estimated delivery date and have a way to track my items.

I find Amazon to be the fastest and most reliable, eBay to be good depending on vendor and shipping location, and most anything from China very troublesome. In general, merchandise from China takes several days to leave their warehouse, several weeks in customs at their end, more time in shipping (whether by ship or plane), and then customs inspection/processing and delivery time in the U.S. I've ordered photo equipment from vendors in Japan, and received them in less than a week.....all well packed and "as described" or better.

Based on my experience, I would tend not to purchase from China, if I knew the origin before purchase. I do use PayPal, which does give relieve/refunds with purchasing disputes.

In late Feb/Early March 2020 I had ordered glasses from of all places, Wuhan CN. They arrived 2 months later in good condition. Patience is the key.

Alibaba and DHGate have been very reliable, good prices, stated delivery dates (if not met you get the item free) and good return policies. Alibaba is often referred to as the Chinese Amazon.

Tell George Washington that you're annoyed you have to wait over a week to get a package delivered from China, and he'd have you committed. 😋

We've become spoiled. I get annoyed waiting till the afternoon to receive an overnight delivery. I've had to wait several days just for something to clear customs.

Let us know when it arrives.

Reminds me of the time I bought an electronic gadget that way only to receive an Israeli flag after a long delay.

I’m not annoyed. I have bought a few things from China. It just takes longer for it to clear customs in Canada than all other processes combined.

That reminds me, the computer on which I am typing this was ordered and I was not given an exact delivery date. I did discover that it was being built in China and finally got a tracking number. It started somewhere in the interior of China and made several stops over a few days. Finally I noted tracking indicated it was still on mainland China just across some water from Hong Kong. I contacted the manufacturer's company and was told it would be a few more days because it had to go through customs. It arrived to my door, the next day.

Go figure.

I have bought quite a bit from Aliexpress. In the last 20 odd years I have only had one thing not delivered and it was only worth a few dollars. They have two ways of delivery and it seems to vary depending on which supplier it is coming from. Most, who offer free postage (3rd world country postage concession), take about 1 month to arrive and generally applies to the cheaper items. If the item is worth a bit more then sometimes I get the item quicker than things coming from another city within NZ. Mailorder suppliers here need a good boot up the backside and wake their ideas up. Getting thru customs never seems to take more than a few days at most. Any taxes involved are paid for to Aliexpress who have to do monthly(?) returns to the NZ govt.
