I have photos which I have edited using PS, Topaz AI or whatever. If i create a new LR cat what do I need to do to keep edited photos?

Don’t create a new cat. Create a new collection if possible

You need to explain, why you need to build a new library (catalog) for your books (images)

If you create a new LR catalog, that file will be empty. You'd have to import either your prior LRCAT into the new LRCAT to access your old images, or just import new images into the new LRCAT to start populating that new (empty) LRCAT.

As others have asked, why are you considering a new LRCAT? What is that intended to solve?

If you are trying to separate the photos that used PS or TopazAI or whatever, just add keywords to those images. No need to create a new catalog.

LR does not automatically generate an edited photo. It stores the edit instructions in the catalog (and a sidecar file if enabled). If you want to keep edited photos you have to export them. LR will strongly resist overwriting the original photo, so if you are editing a jpg, you will have to store it in a separate folder or change the file name. The export dialog will give you options to do that.

It is a good idea to define a folder structure that you can use to store both your originals and edited photos.

PS: if you create a new catalog and import the files you have already edited in the old catalog, the edits will not be imported to the new catalog UNLESS you had generated sidecar files from the first catalog. You will be starting over.

You can 'migrate' data between catalogs. It's not automatic, but certainly doable.

Indeed. You can import a catalog into another catalog. There's a dialog that allows you to select the images to be imported, or just click 'all'.

Please explain what does this mean "to keep edited photos"?
