We spent the last couple of weeks on the Ft Peck Reservoir fishing. We camped in the Hell Creek drainage, this area is famous amongst Paleontologist....lots of dinosaur fossils have been discovered in this area.
Had a few first's for us this trip.....saw about 6 antelope swimming across the lake, it was about 3 miles across where they were trying to swim across it. Not sure if they made it or not! I was able to finally capture a Tern diving, hitting the water and flying away...even though it came up empty and didn't get a fish...it was still fun to see that the sequence of photo's were all in focus!!! Yaaaa lol And we saw a Northern Pike swimming on top of the water - he must have just ate a large meal and wasn't able to go down but the really weird thing about that is - it let us get close enough to it to actually get it in the net!
We caught lots of species of fish this trip: Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Golden Eye, Drum, Perch and Croppies. Walleye ranged from 15 to 30 inches and we kept 17 of the 20/22 inchers for eating.

Tern diving sequence - composite of 7 photo's. First time trying to do a composite like this so it's not the greatest.

Northern Pike wasn't able to go down because of it's large belly - whatever it ate must have been huge!

Looks like you had too much fun! Great photos, and your tern sequence is incredible.
Awesome! Love the last. Did you get wet?
Loved this series, thanks for sharing 😀
Cindy, in this thread you have, in my opinion, some of the most dramatic and beautiful images that I have seen from your previous posts. Let me congratulate you for a job well done.
Incidentally, that is a beautiful fish. Here in South Florida we do not have walleyes but black bass is plentiful. We have also an invasive species called Mayan Cichlid that has reproduced so much that they are even present at Lake Okeechobee and they are plentiful in the Everglades National Park. It is a very beautiful fish along with the Peacock Bass. Both of them are fun to catch.
Once again, congratulations for such beautiful images.
