Old Studebaker pickup. Nice and clean. I wouldn`t mind this being mine.

56, and yes, I could haul groceries in that.
That's a nice one. I like that you captured it out by itself rather than in a pile of other vehicles.
Beautiful! I like to see the old ones in good condition - both cars and people. When I was a kid, we had a 1952 Studebaker Champion. Considering the car, "Champion" was an ironic name. Ours was a lovely, dull battleship gray, unlike the red 1951 beauty below.

Beautiful pickup! I must've spent too many days with my eyes closed or just not paying attention, since I don't recall ever seeing one before your picture. Well done!
Cars & pickups of the day were mostly drab grays & black. Bright colors are more modern. You have been watching too many films with restored vehicles. Also, white wall tires were NOT standard. I used to paint mine with a latex "tire" paint from Western Auto. An early auto that I drove had mechanical brakes which was cable to wheel brake lever from the brake pedal on the car floor. Frequently out of adjustment so you would instinctively correct with steering wheel pull in opposite direction to the car pull of the brakes.

I wonder if it's more than a coincidence that we had two dull, battleship gray cars in the 1950s. We had that Studebaker and an English Ford Prefect. When we were in England in 1974, we took a tour of a car factory. The tour leader said that they preferred dull colors because of the dull weather.
The plant we were touring made the Austin America, and they were painted brighter colors because they were going to "sunny America." It's funny I should remember that from 1974, but I can't remember why I walked into a room.
Generic Ford Prefect picture below. You can imagine it in all its dazzling dull gray. The turn signal was at the top of the steering wheel hub - very convenient.
Great shot of a great looking truck, Keeth.
Well thanks, and thanks Jerry for your pics and history.

Did you ever drive one?
Actually they were no better, no worse than any of the big three
