When I use Bridge, and then double click on the icon below, I am taken to LR. Is there a way for me to be able to double click on the Bridge icon and get to LRC?

I'm trying to duplicate what you are doing and can't figure out which "icon below" you are using. Which icon and below what?

What icon? Can you post a screen shot?

I use Bridge but with Photoshop only (I do not have Lightroom on my PC). That said, what sort of device are you using that has both Lr (web for handheld devices) and Lr Classic on it, and why both? For a PC or Mac all you need is Lr Classic.

I used the incorrect word. It is not an icon, but the the photo at the bottom of the page. When I double click on that photo, I am automatically sent to LR.

Edit>Preferences>File Type Associations should do it.

Try TerryMCs suggestion directly above, and if that does not work then can you post a screen shot of "the the photo at the bottom of the page"?

Pretty sure he means the filmstrip. You can choose different workspaces, and Filmstrip is one of them. You can also move it around.

I can't see how you get any image file to open in either LR or LrC without going through and "add" or "import" process. On my Windows system, I can drag a photo from the Bridge filmstrip to the LR or LrC icons on the task bar. If LR or LrC is open, the "add" or "import" process will trigger.

So far, I've not found a way to open LR or LrC in bridge by double clicking an image file. It goes to Photoshop.

If it were me, I might have a specialized folder called "From Bridge" in my image file structure. I would use Bridge to move photos to that folder. Then in LrC I would synchronize that folder into the catalog.

That's interesting. I don't use Lightroom, so I wouldn't have known that. I do know that if I have a file set to open in Photoshop, and it is a raw file or one that has been edited in Camera Raw, it will just open in ACR; no importing necessary. Just another reason for me to NOT use Lightroom, I guess,

That's what I was thinking.

Why did you post twice in the same day when you could have edited either post?

I’m confused as to why you use Bridge AND Lightroom.

Thank you for letting me know that it was possible to edit the original. Didn't know that. Thanks.
