Because .., I love shooting the moon .. Tripod ..D7200 / 200-500 5.6 set at 1,000mm crop ..edited of course .., no electronic shutter ..Taken a few nights ago here in California where I have been for over a month …

Excellent details. I'm curious why the stars show movement with a short exposure. Did you stack a few shots?

GREAT observation.. the stars and moon were diff shots ..I usually would only add one of my perfect clear star shots
as a back drop ...but went with a blur / movement on this shot with the moon .
I had a specific audience for the finished product and thought I'd post it at the hog for the heck of it ...other than wanting the moon to be the main clear focal point , there actually would be no reason to not have used my perfect star shots in a stack with the moon ...

Great detail. The stars to the immediate left of the moon in the second photo would be hidden by the dark portion of the moon not lit by the sun.
