Lens does small quick turns when switched on.

I have sony A35. Using minolta 35/105 lens does same with two other lens both sigma. When switched lenses twitch short quick turns does contacts need cleaning thanks in advance love all your beautiful pictures

Some lenses when turned off do a total retraction and then when turned on go to a default position. Especially zooms. It is more common in fixed lens cameras but some interchangable zooms also do it. It may be zooming or it may be the AF, it depends on the lens.

Had a camera that did that. There was an item in the menus called “pre focus” that I turned off. Viola!

Thanks LM gal I had this switched on that said camera will focus when start to lift up to my eye turned it off and fingers crossed seems to be cured you put me in right direction happy shooting.

I use Minolta AF lenses on my Sony A7+ bodies. All of them do a short dance when I turn on the camera. I've always just assumed it is the autofocus calibrating/resetting...

I took pre focus of mine seems to have stopped don't think would have done much harm any was one of your fellow hog put me on right road
