DP Review e-mails

Like many others, I was disappointed to learn that DP Review was recently shuttered. But I continue to receive daily e-mails from them with links to reviews of brand new products that have been introduced after they officially shut down. When I click on the links, they show a locked sign and a blank page. I then tried to unsubscribe to the e-mails, but again, any links to DP Review go to a blank page. Anyone have an idea of what’s happening?

What exactly is the link in the email set to go to?

Perhaps clearing your browser cache will fix your issue.
DP is still up and running. Forums remain active. Equipment reviews are still being posted. New articles are being posted, as recently as this morning.
As of the last update posted on May 11, the future of DP sadly remains uncertain.

Interesting.
New domain, new format. I wonder if they were not allowed to transfer/keep the old one.

Correct. They had to find a new home. Lots there to enjoy!

The old site is still working, too. You might have to clear your cache, remove cookies, or other maneuvers to get your browser to load it, but it's there. They seem to have a skeleton staff, and a lot of users have moved to one of two spinoffs. (I moved to the one Linda mentioned, DPRev) Some users have made it a point to stay at the old site till the lights go out or till someone announces a new owner/direction. Activity is reduced but it's not dead yet. No one knows whether the site will be open long term and if so, what it will be doing.

The only other forum I participate in is DPR. I only go to two of the sections that have to do with studio and lighting techniques and a pro-digital component. Those sections are well-organized and peaceful and there is a helpful crew frequent the section. In some ways, it is presently operating "normally" as per folks posting and responding to questions. When I sign on, the regular screen appears and the notice of closure is gone(?)

So, just in case, I attempted to register with the new RP RweviedED forum to see if any of the old crew had gone there and what they were up to on the new site. I could not sign in to verify and they did no send the required E-mail link. I imagine it is easier to sign in to the security network at Fort Knox. I followed all the steps.

I have no way of contracting their admin or any of the moderators. Perhaps this is another link.

I did not need an email verification that I recall. Here's one of the pages within the forum:
https://dprevived.com/c/photography-critiques/147/

Try the "Register" button on upper right hand corner. If it doesn't work for you, contact UHH user MinnieV. She's one of the moderators of the weekly critique section I joined, and she commented right above you in this thread.

Thanks to all the responses to my post. I’m now following the dprevived site, as I still cannot log onto the older site even after clearing caches, etc. But the new site looks good.
