Made a bit of a side trip today up the West side of Glacier Park to a little place called Polebridge. Not much there really, beautiful scenery, beautiful river, great hiking trails, and the Polebridge Mercantile. Which happens to bake the absolute BEST bearclaws in the country! My personal favorite are their Huckleberry Cream Cheese bearclaws!

You should have told me you were in town, I would have met ya up there! How was the north fork road? That's pretty much my back yard.

Pretty rough actually, looks like its a bit behind on maintenance! Came back on Camas Rd. into the park and up to Lake MacDonald Lodge. Road construction there has the Going to the Sun road in TERRIBLE condition.
Had dinner at Vaqueros in CF, wish I'd have thought to get in touch while I was there. Back at camp in Libby for 2 more nights before heading into Canada. Going to explore the Yaak tomorrow.

My hubby took care of the NF road for 25 yrs working for the county, that was his only job to keep that road in shape but now, the guy only blades it twice a yr so it gets nasty!
I heard the construction in the park is nasty as well. But glad you had a good trip.Sorry I missed ya.

The last time I drove the Going to the Sun road, I was hosting some distant family, flat landers from Missouri. There was some seat cleaning needed by the time it was all said and done with!

HUCKLEBERRIES!! Looks absolutely dee-lishious. I haven't had huckleberries in decades. Used to pick them where I grew up.
