AI is great to play with picture, there is no question, use it.

Image entirely generated with an AI on the other hand will not be acceptable in this forum section. They will be systematically moved or deleted. Use the forum section digital artistry to post your creations.

But Rongnongno, Bob Dylan is warning... "Times they are a changin"

The key to what you are saying is never touched by a camera or as you say " entirely generated with an AI "
Key word being entirely.. the keyboard or microphone is not a camera substitute for this section.

It isn't a bad idea to have lots of forum sections. If there were not forum sections I would spend the majority of my time on the site combing through all the posts looking for content that interest me, with little time left to enjoy the posts that interest me. Even if a forum section eventually suffers from non relevent content, it's still better than not having different forums.

I think that this is a very short-sighted approach to this forum. Is sky replacements, composites and any significant PP no longer accepted either. How about any use of Adobe's neural filters? Is denoising and sharpening using AI now no longer acceptable either? How about the use of all the AI features in applications such as Luminar Neo and On One? Where does it end, except by some arbitrary decision by ??.

The new tool will be used whether you like it or not. That's just a fact and it will become more ubiquitous, including here on UHH, as time progresses. Don't you think that this section would be a good place to discuss, mold and help people use the tool judiciously? After all the tool is now part of post-processing and it is a digital image.

And as Paul said, 'Good luck trying to enforce'.

AI = computer created, as in NO PHOTOGRAPHY. PP is not computer created.

The AI section was just created for this type of discussion.

There is no mention of using AI while editing. Is there?

Yeah, just a tool, like my paintbrush that paints murals for my while I sip wine and wait. Like my hammer that builds affordable housing for homeless vets while I drink beer and watch the ball game. Just a tool, just like those other tools...

Yep, just a tool, no more, no less. AI is here to stay whether we like it or not. We just need to learn how to embrace it. AI in photography isn't doing anything that doesn't already exist in some form or another.

Now, if you think that your mural can't be designed and painted, using your own brushes, while you sip your wine and wait, then see the references below. The technology already exists

Also, if you think that your hammer can't build affordable housing for homeless vets while you drink your beer and watch the ball game see the references below. The hammer's just been replaced with robotic technologies.

And China's taking mass low cost housing construction to all new industrial levels in Africa using 3D printing technology.

ensuring that the carbon based intelligence adds soul to the work is important! It is ok to hate on AI, after all in a short millennium or so(after it saves us from ourselves), AI will turn our planet into a black hole that sucks energy from the cosmos just to generate soulless images for UHH viewer bots.
