When I was returning home from Columbia, South Carolina, I saw a sign for the Laurel And Hardy Museum. The museum is located in Harlem, Georgia, which is west of Augusta, Georgia. Oliver Hardy was born in Harlem. This is a quaint little museum(and welcome center). This is more of an informational post for anyone with an interest who might be traveling in this area.
Good morning. Thanks for this post regarding the actors in "Laurel and Hardy." I grew up watching this first-rate comedy duo on television. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy have entered the Pantheon.

They truly do not make them like that anymore, in every sense of the word.
Thanks for this. Back when comedy was funny. These days, filth is considered comedy, and (IMHO) isn't funny. I note with approval some of the names listed above: Dick Van Dyke, Lucille Ball, Harvey Korman and others. None of them needed to stoop to vulgarity, and their comedy was rolling-in-the-aisles funny. I'd add to that list Jonathan Winters, Red Skelton, Bob Hope... Gosh, the list is endless. I can't name a single "comedian" performing today.
When comedy was king. Thanks for the memories.
Looks like a neat place to visit
Thanks for posting

You are welcome. I suspect there will be few if any museums for today’s comedians.

My favourite comedy duo, they were the masters of mirth. I have been to the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ulverston England where Stan was born. They have a small cinema there that continuously plays their films. I was going to buy a lifesize figure of them holding a drinks tray out....but my wife said "Don't even think about it" so I bought a coffee mug with their faces on instead!

I read about the museum in England. They also have a small cinema in the local museum. I chuckled at your story about the life size figure. That would be a conversation piece.

Brings back memories of my youth when I used to watch them on screen.
Laurel and Hardy were great but good comedy is not dead two or three come to mind like Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron & Ron, and Bill Lengvall. It's just taken a hard hit is all. When will we learn that filth it not funny?
