The last week of April and into the month of May is when the desert comes alive with beautiful blossom's. The Ocotillo, Prickly Pear and Saguaro are bursting in color.

Beautiful pictures; #6 a Yellow Bird of Paradise?
Beautiful series, Dennis.
Nice pictures. You really get the colors to pop.
Have you ever eaten ice cream flavored with prickly pear fruit? Really good!
MT native , beauty in the big, great set of photos.
When I lived in Phoenix for a year, I regularly went with a group on hikes. It was amazing how small flowering plants could grow in the dry environment of "up to" 6 inches of rain a year. A heavy dark rain dump lightens as it descends and ends up evaporating before reaching the ground... amazing to a Florida person where we may get 5 inches of rain during a wet weekend!
Wonderful set, Dennis. I always felt it was a mystery as to how such a beautiful flower can grow on a cactus; the prickly pear is my favorite.
Beautiful, Dennis!
I was out there last spring and captured a few, but I hear the desert is prettier this spring.
