So easy, so good "Beef and Cabbage soup"
1 pound lean ground beef
1 t salt
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t pepper
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 can (16 ounces) of kidney beans, or black beans rinsed and drained
1/2 medium head of cabbage, chopped or 1 package of shredded cabbage
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
3-1/2 cups water
1 t Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
4 teaspoons beef bouillon granules or 1 rounded t better than beef paste
Minced fresh parsley
1 good goob of salted butter (optional)
Directions
- In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients except parsley.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 25 min. Garnish with parsley.
Wow that looks good. Too hot for soup down here right now but that recipe is going in my soup file for this winter.
