This is an image I made at one of our assignment areas at Big Bend. I wasn't taken with the location and found it difficult to find an interesting frame. This is what I came up with. It's a stack of 3 images. I'd never done one before and had to Google the instructions. Let me know what you think.

This is a 3-image stack, shot on a tripod in live view to move the focus point.

Well done, my eyes can focus on every part of the image and they are all clearly in focus. I lived in Phoenix for a year and trips on the weekend were interesting. Here in Florida, there is sand and more sand and standard vegetation... except for swamp areas not yet filled in for new homes.

I recall being amazed at how tenacious Veggitation was at holding on to life in a dry landscape. Climbing Camelback was a memorable experience and viewing the haze over Phoenix from on high was remarkable. Thank you for bringing back memories in good focus AzPicLady

Thank you, Cindy. I'm happy to hear you say it's a pretty area. I wasn't too taken with it myself.

Thank you, Dpullum. This image was actually taken at Big Bend in SW Texas, not the Phoenix area.

Nice picture Kathy with good focus detail. I usually start with something real close to the camera, around six feet or less, then progress on to the final distant shot. That way it gets the viewers thinking, how'd he do that? Gotta watch out for wind disturbances or cloud movement during the series though.

Thanks, Jack. I sort of did the same thing as you describe. I wasn't too worried about wind, as we were down into a wash with the plants, and I didn't think the rock was going to move! One thing I didn't think about was how the change of focus might affect the metering. But it seemed to have worked.

When I looked at your photo the first image I saw was a creature baring his teeth at me! Now I can’t get it out of my head! I know this is nothing to do with the discussion but it is always good to start the day with a grin!😁
