Terrible traffic on I95, GPS said it was closed, so used Waze to bypass that. stopped for gas before getting back on 95, the sky opened up for 20 mins.
Staying in Rocky Mt, NC. And went to dinner at a great smokehouse. The front came through with vengeance. Rain, wind, hail, amazing sky. I apologize, had to use my cellphone.
Came through the same area yesterday afternoon. Going North on I-95 from Florida. The skies did open up on us going through Georgia. Got redirected by GPS unto US 17 before going into Savannah region. The ride took us out into the coastal low lands. Took us onto the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. The two drawbacks were that we had to get home and no areas to pull off to take shots. The scenery with the attendant storm clouds was fantastic.
This was the first time where all three suggested routes included the words "Flooded areas avoided".
The regret is that I may not get back to the lowlands to photograph several ideas in that region. The conditions were not conducive for photography yesterday. I.e., the overload in traffic. Also, had the near hit with a speeding car and a pursuing SC state patrol on I-77. I guesstimated their speed to be above 100 MPH! (No photos available. Concentrated on being out of the target zone.)
