Sitting on the deck I was watching the sun light-up this iris.

Sometimes you will find a photo op when you least expect it. I like both for different reasons. The color one for its color and shadows. The B/W for the flower texture.

I can’t say I’m keen on the shadow, although I understand your interest in it. The iris itself is very nice, in both colour and mono, I think I’d make that the subject in its own right. Nice shot.

Thanks magnetoman. Sometime I'm so wrapped up on an idea I miss the obvious. However this was a strong evening hard light threw the trees that lite-up the iris only and threw a shadow on the wall. Not an earth-shattering composition or idea but I liked it. Think I'll try a square format on the flower and see how that looks.
