Are their any Indie Repair Camera Shops that will Repair a Canon ZX50 here in America?
I Accidentally let my ZX50 Fall to the Floor while I was Putting the Charged Up Battery in.
I Tested the Camera & the Zoom Died, as well as the Camera, it said it was Shutting Off, to Reset it, but I Can't & Canon won't Repair it cause it's 9 Years Old & the Stories I've heard from UHH Posters that Canon won't Repair the ZX50 due to lack of Parts & Other B.S.
So Again...is their An Indie Repair Center that will Fix my SX50, Still I'm Buying another Bridge, Either A Nikon P1000, or Lumix, but I'd like to Keep the SX50 Going if there's an Indie to Repair it?
Anybody who has had issues with their SX50 & Had Problems & got theirs Serviced by An Indie Repair let me Know?

Is an SX50 actually worth repairing? Have you looked for another one? The cost of repair may exceed the cost of a replacement camera. I have no idea what a Canon ZX50 is. The only Canon ZX devices I'm familiar with are calculator/organizers.
The best independent repair shop I've found is Authorized Camera Repair in Willow Grove PA. Check out their web site. I've done business with them for years and they are really good and honest.
Used are around $125 for an SX50. Kind of an expensive mistake, but any repair estimate above $50 probably means replacing is the better option.
Its a Bridge Camera that came out in 2011 or 12, People Who Owned the SX50 Said it was the Best Built Bridge Camera Canon Made.
I don't know what Year you came aboard the UHH Ship? but People who Owned it like me Raved about the SX50.
Thank you for the Other Matter.
I wouldn't know where to find a Used SX50?

google used sx50, most results will be on ebay. KEH would be another option.

If you are responding to me, I own an SX50 HS, an SX60 HS and an SX70 HS. You clearly stated ZX50, more than once along with SX50. I've never been aboard a ship named UHH. I joined UHH in 2015, roughly a year after you.
Correction...SX50...not ZX50.
As for the Term aboard the UHH Ship, Slang for Not on the Ship meaning you weren't Aboard around the Mid 2010's.
You joined in August of 2014 and I joined in October of 2015, like I said, about a year after you. The only time I've ever seen UHH referred to as a ship is in this conversation. 2015 is indeed MID 2010's.
When I saw ZX50 and SX50 I initially thought you were referring to two things. I later realized you were referring to the Canon SX50 HS. As I said, I own an SX50 HS, SX60 HS and SX70 HS.
Ok...let's focus on the Original Post.

Like I originally replied, it may not be worth fixing. I've seen them on Ebay for as little as $50 and average price around $150. It depends on what broke on yours. Canon stopped making that camera about 10 years ago so new parts may be scarce if not impossible to find. The best independent repair shop I've dealt with in recent years is located in Willow Grove PA, about 55 minutes from my home. You are on the other side of the country, so shipping is a major factor. If Canon says parts are no longer available, then the only parts source for the indies is used cameras. My personal opinion is, maybe it's time to retire that SX50 HS and either find another used one or even upgrade to a newer model. I'd offer you mine but it's part of a collection.
No... what happens was I Charged up the Battery & was putting it in, I had the Camera in the Case, but I forgot to Zip it Up & when I Put it on the Edge of my Bed, it Fell out of the Case.
I put the Battery in & Tested out the Selectors, when I went to Zoom, it was Out of Focus & Zoomed to the Tele Part & it Stuck, it Said Lens Error, it would Shut Down to Reset & Nothing Happened!
So it's Sitting in my Drawer, I'm Going to Buy a Lumix as a Replacement until I get a D.S.L.R. but I'm Still going to keep or Replace the SX50, I will look on E Bay to see what's out there.

I am pretty sure Roberts in Indianapolis can fix it for you, but it would probably cost more than replacing it.
What's the Name of this Robert's, are they Full Camera Repair & Number & Web Link to it.

Most repair places may not have parts in stock for cameras that old. If not, they may have a rough time finding any if the manufacturer no longer makes them. Purchasing from a reliable used camera dealer may be a better option.
