Good news for FedEx, UPS, and the USPS

Recently there was a post here about an incident involving a large well-regarded photo store. The OP had a problem with a purchase, and was told it would take 5 to 7 days to resolve. Unfortunately, he had not received satisfaction after five weeks of following-up.

One of the responses this OP received was “Obviously, you have never run a large business, shit happens. Go take a shower, have a cup of warm liquid and CHILL.” This response received a “thumbs-up” from other readers.

I’m sure the folks who work for FedEx, UPS, and the USPS will be delighted to read this, since the general attitude here about these “large businesses” is that every letter or package lost or mis-delivered is reason to bring back public hangings of their executives in the town square.

Five weeks is too long for a resolution.

5 days = good service and 5 weeks = bad service

Yes 5 weeks is too long although the person made the thread only bought a battery grip which isn't too expensive but holding his money for 5 weeks mean he would have to pay interest if he bought on credit.

When you spend your money, you like to get something in return - or a refund. Imagine a company waiting five weeks to be paid after delivering a product. Imagine walking out of a store with a $3,000 camera. "Thanks. I'll be back in a couple of months with the payment."

Thanks for exposing the hypocrisy of the “shit happens” comment. Because we like Adorama, their delay is excused. Because we detest the post office, their delay is inexcusable.

It took 7 months to get my $190 from service plus home warranty cause the wine cooler was not fixable.i feel it took this long cause I reported them to the BBB if not I may still be waiting on my money.it's like pulling teeth out of these people.

Exactly. I think the point the OP was trying to make is that all bad service ought to be treated the same. They should not get a pass because we like the company. Even when poor service is out of character for that provider, in that instance, it is poor service, and a complaint is justified.

Yah PayBoo wanted you to do that Jerry. Buy the camera for $3000 and pay with PayBoo. No money there and pay PayBoo in 2 months and you will see how much you have to pay then.

It appears that many of the big companies have lost sight of customer service. Typically those who provide services that you can't get elsewhere and where you only have limited choices. Over the years I have noticed only new customers get the great deals and long-time customers watch their bills continue to climb without the service getting better. Sometimes I get lucky and can wrap a problem with one of the companies that come out in my favor or takes a short time. So far Amazon has the best customer service and yes I pay for Prime. Oh then there is the matter we all pay in advance trusting that we get good service; only at brick-and-mortar stores do we pay for items and walk out with them.

Yes! That's a major mistake, in my opinion. When I had a website, I had to change it every two or three years because of the huge price jump. They all offer low prices to start. Then, the prices take a huge jump.
