N LATE JUNE 2019, right after the U.S. Supreme Court released its final opinion of the term, Justice Clarence Thomas boarded a large private jet headed to Indonesia. He and his wife were going on vacation: nine days of island-hopping in a volcanic archipelago on a superyacht staffed by a coterie of attendants and a private chef.

If Thomas had chartered the plane and the 162-foot yacht himself, the total cost of the trip could have exceeded $500,000. Fortunately for him, that wasn’t necessary: He was on vacation with real estate magnate and Republican megadonor Harlan Crow, who owned the jet — and the yacht, too.

So you can't go on an invited vacation with a friend that happens to be wealthy?

Come on, You can't be that naive. (First read the complete article)

Bribery refers to the offering, giving, soliciting, or receiving of any item of value as a means of influencing the actions of an individual holding a public or legal duty.

A person commits an offense by giving or offering anything of value in an attempt to influence, for the benefit of the organization or government, business transactions with a total value of $5,000 or more

If you actually believe that this was two friends staying at each other's homes, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

Finally, there's this rule for all federal employees:
No employee may accept more than $50 worth of gifts from any one customer in any one calendar year period. This same section states that any gift cannot be worth more than $20.00.

Believe me, this is not a hill you want to die on.

Just more Lefty lunatic conspiracy BS. All of the supreme court justices accept gifts and it’s illegal in some circumstances. And the only reason we know that Clarence Thomas accept a gift is because he reported them.

“The Ethics in Government Act of 1989 prohibits all federal employees from accepting "anything of value" from a person with official business before them. However, under the rules that the federal judicial system adopted to implement that law, judges are free to accept gifts from people without official business before them.”

So my question to you is why are you attacking the black man?

You obviously didn't read the article because it states, "For more than two decades, Thomas has accepted luxury trips virtually every year from the Dallas businessman without disclosing them"

Don't play the race card with me, garage boy. It's not only wrong, but it shows what a mutt you really are.

I did read that you illiterate. If you read the article I posted you would have seen that it was published in 2004. Again, why are you attacking the black man for doing something legally just as all of the other justices are doing? You singled out the black man because you are a racist.

You are both. How’s it feel to get owned once again?

You are now and always will be a loser.

Never called you a loser, that’s what you called me. So yes, you are a racist and you do project quite often

So what's the bribery? It says right in the article neither Crow or his firm have had a case before the SS during Thomas' tenure. And also, what crimes did Thomas commit and what are the illegal gifts? It also states right in the article that there are few restrictions on gifts SC members can accept unlike other fed employees.
