Has anyone tried any of the free software out there that converts a photo from jpeg to pdf? I need to load a bunch of snapshots for work and they need to be pdf. Nothing fancy or high quality just need to be able to view the pics. It would be nice to be able to combine multi pics into one file and to reduce the file size for loading as well as viewing. Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Mac or PC? On the Mac, the capability is built into the system. Just select print from whatever program you are in and down in the lower left is the choice to make it a PDF.

You could insert all the photos into a document and then print that document to a pdf printer.

I've used Cute PDF on Windows machines and it works well. Not many features but easy to use and free.

Not Free, but I use Adobe Acrobat Pro X and I need to print photos to PDF files quite often with decent results.
You can also download a free the PDF995 printer driver for very good results... http://www.pdf995.com/

Also free is OpenOffice suite (available for Windows and Linux; not sure about Mac) which will save documents as PDF files. Bonus: it reads and writes most formats, including Word DOC and Excel XLS (not sure about DOCX or XLSX).

As much as I liked the free Open Office Suite, I had several formatting problems using Excel, I was more or less forced back to Microsoft Office... :(

If you are on a Mac you can open the photo in Preview and then "export" as a pdf. Works great.

CutePDF printer and PrimoPDF are GREAT pdf printers.
Just download and install per the instructions, then ANYTHING you want to print can be printed to them and they will come up and ask for a file name. These programs install as "printers" and will show up in the printer selection drop-down anytime you print. PrimoPDF allows you to APPEND to an already existing file, or over-write it.

I keep learning - have used PrimoPDF for years and never found that. Just tried it and it's great. Thanks.

Put the JPG photos into a MS Word document and save the Word document as a PDF. I used to create flyers and newspaper ads using that method. No other PDF conversion software required.

Don't know if you got the answer you were looking for. However, in Windows, just open up the photo file by double clicking. Than just go to "print". Open up the print dialogue and choose PDF. You can even change the print quality.
