Yesterday morning we had two passenger trains depart Denver going west through the Moffat Tunnel towards Utah. The first train was Amtrak #5, the daily train from Chicago to San Francisco. The second train was a Union Pacific passenger special running for railroad officials to meet with local politicians and business leaders.
Photo #1- Amtrak #5 passes me at Leyden siding west of Denver in the suburb of Arvada.
Photo #2- About two hours later the UP special passed me after hosting local officials in Denver for a breakfast before departing for Provo, UT.
Not great weather but seeing passenger trains running at all is welcome!
Great photos! Love the "on the curve" perspective, and the falling snowflakes.

Nice!! I really like #2!! The snow adds an extra something to your photos. Thanks for braving the elements to get these shots.
