There is another discussion going on here concerning the best book to learn how to use a D850.

I have come to see that the biggest problem in photography is that people buy a camera expecting it to make them to immediately make them an expert photographer. Very few are willing or have the mindset to approach the process incrementally...learning "how" in a logical sequence that also allows for making interesting pictures along the way.

I love how Larry gets to speak for most people and their mindset. Almost god like!

Just based on my observations and experiences. No claims beyond that. Ever. Also no comment around what it might mean if my statements happen to ring a bell with you.

AI, don't know yet where it is leading, but, at least. Wait, why go to Photography School if the camera has already been there.
Will no one be able to say they are professionals?

Yes if the AI can do everything that would be a boon for the pros because now they can have their job done without doing anything. Just need to collect the fee. You are the real professional if you own a machine that can do the job for you. The clients pay for the results not your effort. It's only bad for the amateur which have nothing to do so it would be extremely boring taking photography as a hobby.

No, the people who built the AI system would collect the fee - ‘professional photographer’ species will become extinct.

It depends. If the AI people only made it available as per subscription then perhaps so. Otherwise if you own the camera you collect the fee. If you own the camera it's like you have your own slave. The slaves do the work you collect the money. People already treat their cameras as slaves. The claim 100% credit for all of the images and give none to the camera. They keeps saying it's the 6 inch behind the camera but in fact the camera took the pictures. Cameras however can't fight back but perhaps the AI based cameras can. Well I don't want to know what will be next. Perhaps the camera will direct the photographers to do what it deems as creatively correct then it will collect the money in crypto. The photographers will be slaves to the cameras.

If it's only available by subscription, a large portion of the group here won't buy in.

I don't know. A lot of people here subcribe to the Adobe software as someone said programmers got to eat.

Can it be made any easier? But, some on here will bitch about having to "DO" something. Someone still had to "push the button."

I don't mind pushing the button, I want AI to tell me when to push the button. A message something like "hey you idiot take the picture now. I will make it look even better when you download it onto your computer".

It only seems like a "large portion." If you start tracking names, you'll find it's just the same small handful saying the same thing over and over.

Is it not amazing that cameras and photography have gone from 100% manual to almost 99.99% auto and most of us still cannot shoot an acceptable image. Maybe these AI guys are on to something!

I guess I can't do that with a Leica :-)

Sorry to hear that you cannot shoot an acceptable image. Maybe you should spend less time on UHH just talking about it, and more time behind the lens.
