I know I paid more than $3.26 a roll for the same film in 1980 that costs $12.00 a roll today. But I'll take a $12.00 64GB SDXC card over a roll of film, today.

The mistake of owning inferior camera brands

Your whole post could have been one word: COST.
Here my one word: PROGRESS.

When I saw the title my first thought was whining about the cost of the Lightroom/Photoshop subscription. Then I saw you had it first on your list!
I'll add three:
> Phones aren't real cameras.
> "They" shouldn't end DSLR development.
> "They" shouldn't make me buy a camera that records video.

While I admit that progress can be either positive or negative, the subscription model for Adobe has reduced the cost of LR/PS. I rank that one as positive progress.

Your repetitious use of the word "COST" will drive many here away from it.
The ongoing droning about the "Nikon Z8".
For Pete's sake, it'll be here when it gets here!

There are several positive benefits to subscriptions that are often overlooked.
The Lightroom/Photoshop program is better because of the subscription system. The steady cash flow allows planned, intentional and effective product development. They know what they can invest and work on it consistently.
If you have a business, it is a lot easier to "expense" lower monthly costs than to "invest in" and "depreciate" expensive assets.
It helps to minimize software piracy. Besides being wrong, "pirates" don't contribute to the company's product development that we that pay benefit from.

I always want to know who “they” are.

Away from what? Whining about cost? Good! (If so)
