Today (03-30-23), I went out to the Superstition Mountain Museum, where I'm a volunteer, to take some photos for their files. The day started out rainy, windy and chilly, but there was hope that it would be warming up by noon, so I took my chances and was in the hopes of catching some blooming wildflowers.
The flowers pictured are the Brittlebush and will soon blanket the foothills leading up to Superstition Mountain. There has been a very good blooming of the blue Lupine, but they've been pretty scattered as have the bright orange Globe Mallow. I've been hoping for a major bloom of the Mexican Gold Poppy, but so far they're not presenting a very good showing around the Mountain. But I'm still optimistic that it's going to improve.
