Driving into town today, I saw a freight train loaded with Amazon Prime intermodal containers. I've seen their trucks driving around, but never these Intermodals. UPS still delivers to me.

I’ve never seen that before. It makes sense since rail is the most cost effective and fuel efficient way to ship long distance.

I've said it many times... Building a website to sell things is simple. Amazon is successful because they've mastered delivery.

Is it wise for Amazon to so proudly display their logo on shipping containers, seemingly making them an easy target for freight hi-jackers? Trains are being hit hard during the current wave of retail and commercial crime.

Many of those boxes are empty. In LA, there's a section of track that's like a shopping center for thieves. I'm sure that LA isn't the only place where this happens.

Yes, I do, but watching a hundred freight cars move by isn't very exciting. I prefer something more interesting - technology.
