Ok, I easily understand the term of only B&H warranty.
Guess many don't understand that phrase.

There's a thread here going on here about grey market. Some people had bought grey market equipment who didn't even know there was such a thing, or understand the implication of a store warranty only. I think vendors should be more explicit in explaining the difference.

Return it!
A few years ago I bought a D7500 and shortly after I purchased it I had to send it in to Nikon to replace the viewfinder because of artifacts. Fortunately, it was a USA model, fully covered under warranty.
You could have bought a used one from a number of reputable companies for a lot less money and would end up in the same situation you are in now, but, at least, if it were a USA model you could get it repaired.

That is shouting grey market very loudly and clearly.
Hard to miss.

Well, if you don't know what B&H warranty only means, it doesn't shout out anything.

What you decide to do is up to you. You got a lower price by buying a grey market. It was made in the same factory as all D7500s. The only difference is the serial number assigned was a range not intended for sale in the US market. Manuals haven't been printed now for a few years. Go to the www.nikonusa.com site and find the support page for your D7500 and download the 358-page Users Manual in PDF form in English.

I am going to keep it and hope that it works as well for me as the 7100 has.

Return it... It's a gray market camera. There is no regular factory warranty. Besides that, it is old technology. It came on the market in 2017. Would you by a 2017 car or TV unless it was dirt cheep?

I am not interested in keeping up with the technology. I bought my 7100 in 2015 (2 years after it came out) and it served me well for 7 1/2 years. Thie 7500 is still a camera that has never been used, a new camera. Even if it had a factory warranty, I would not have purchased it.

While I understand the risks associated with gray market products, I think this is less of an earth-ending problem than most seem to want to make it. B&H has proven themselves to me as a stable, honorable organization. Since you have a one year warranty with them, any initial problems should be well-covered. While the D7500 is still a current model, Nikon has a new support model that provides for even paid repairs for their products for a much shorter period than we've come to be accustomed to. (Turns out that everyone but Pentax follows it now...supporting only the current and one previous model. Turns out it's one of the things that we have to thank Sony for.) So any support down the road is eventually likely to be just as big a problem for US products as for gray market goods.

My recommendation would be to download the manual as Paul has suggested, give the camera a good, thorough shakedown cruise, and (if everything seems OK, have lots of fun with it. While it's still current, it may be a good while before more US models are produced.

I am going to keep it and anticipate that it will work as well as if it had been marketed to the US.

I suggested to return it because for a gray market camera it doesn't have the factory warranty and Nikon would not service it even for a fee and B&H didn't give a discount because of that. They priced it exactly the same price as a camera for the US market with warranty and with repair support from Nikon.

Well, I did go the link you put on here and hit the download button. It pulled up the manual, but I don't see it in my downloads. So, I don't know if it's actually downloaded to my computer or not

So a gray market just means that if something goes wrong with the camera Nikon will not repair it. The quality should be the same as a camera built for the U.S. market. The good news is that Nikon cameras are usually very dependable and well built and it will probably not need to be serviced. User manuals and latest firmware is available for download on Nikon's website, and searching in Google will give you results of videos available on YouTube regarding setting up the D7500 right out of the box.

Correct, but know that even independent repairs shops will not repair grey market cameras, they dont want to piss off the maker who they get their parts from. Nikon has ended OEM parts to third-party repair shops since 2021, sadly, and there are just a few authorized repair facilities that Nikon supports in the USA, and none will repair any grey market Nikons.

The camera is made on the same production line, so any online Nikon manual will provide you an English version for your model, no worries there.

B&H should have told you it was a grey market camera. IMHO if I was in your situation I would return it and get my money back and apply that to a good new or used one with a USA warranty and USA serial number.

Cheers and best to you.

That's true about the same price. But, I didn't know that when I ordered it. I didn't order from B & H's website, so I didn't know there were 2 different items of the same camera. i just spoke with one of their salesmen. It cost the same as the 7100 I bought 7 years ago. So, I thought it was a decent price. I already have it out of the box and set up so it is probably too late to return it. I will just hope it performs as well as the 7100 did for me.
