Sometimes we need to enjoy the little things life has to offer.
While doing some cleaning around the house, my wife insisted that I throw stuff away that I’m not using. Out went my old pair of sneakers. I kind of enjoy the mini bottle of whiskey and the tiny camera. One sip later the single malt is gone and one triple A battery and I’m snapping away just for fun.

I do remember there were mini or compact film cameras small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. Does anyone else remember them too…

I picked up a Minolta 16mm "spy" camera when in the military but only used it a few times. Not too many places I could get the film processed and printed so it became more of a novelty thing. A couple years ago, I came across a fellow forumite (a different forum as I recall) who showed interest in purchasing it from me, so I sold it. Last i knew it was going into a museum display somewhere in China.

If I could, I would like to collect a few of these subminiature cameras. But I don’t have the space and my wife will ask me if I lost my mind, again!

I like the concept of a spy camera but developing film and printing photos may be difficult. I will start with North Coast Photo in Carlsbad.

I'm not sure about the cameras but I like your taste in Scotch

I enjoy a well distilled single malt. I enjoy a nice Macallan or Balvenie. Of course, a Johnnie Walker Double Black’s smokiness pairs nicely with an Ashton cigar. That makes a great night with friends enjoyable.

Given a choice I prefer the heave smoky peat flavor of Laphroaig. I gave up smoking years ago but I still miss my pipe

A photographer should have one vice: It could be smoking, gambling, sex, eating, or drinking. Why one vice? It’s hard to do all of them at the same time!

Great choice in single malts. Never had the Johnnie Walker Double Black - I will need to give that a try. Cigars have been ditched for over 22 years - right after the birth of my first grandson, after promising my daughter I would partake of them no more.

That's a cute little camera. Nice pen, too.

I'm glad I never got into Scotch - too expensive. Guinness does it for me.

I remember them too. Here is a shot of my "collection".
You have very good taste in scotch. Have never tried Johnnie Walker Double Black but your Glen Moray is wonderful. My personal preference is Lagavulan which I simply take for "medicinal" purposes.

I still own a camera that is easily fits in a pocket- The Sony HX80 and HX99- have them both. Fun little cameras. And then there is the Olympus Tough 5 waterproof camera that takes great images above as well as in water. For my photography these jpeg cameras work wonderfully. I know arguments about raw being better and I just don't want to take the time or have skill sets on computer. As for chucking things not used, have done that with old lenses and filters and no more film cameras. Old film canisters are not for my coin collection.

The ultimate in spy cameras, the Minox,8mm.

Any votes for Glenlevet - 16 Year Old Scotch? That's my choice.
