I was watching this bighorn grazing, then all of a sudden, he dropped to his knees, then flopped down and laid his chin down on the ground and closed his eyes.

Taken last week in Yellowstone.

A very good shot of probably one of the many challengers. He is probably not the Alpha male. The Alpha male will fight off all the challengers instead eating, resting, and surviving. Alpha males very, very rarely live to see a next year. Even if he is a "weak" challenger, I am sure I would not like to take him on. Again, a very good shot.

Actually, one of the big full curl males was lying next to him on the right, but with head up and alert.
