Devil’s Den State Park
In October of 2010 I made a short visit to the Devil’s Den State Park near Fayetteville, Arkansas. It’s an interesting place, built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), and contains a number of nice rock structures. There are several hiking trails, but I’m not s hiker and didn’t do them. My dad lived in Arkansas and worked in the CCC in the 1930s – I’ve wondered if he was on the build crew here.
And now a few pictures.

Beautiful setting, and scenic area! Those CCC guys did excellent work, and much was done by hand! I was just admiring some of their work at Petit Jean State Park, this week. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, samantha90, nice to see you. Thanks for coming.

Earnest, thanks for the nice comment.

Doug, thank you for the nice comment. Yes, the CCC did some very fine work. My dad was in the CCC prior to his marriage to my mom and my birth, but I don't know what projects he was part of. He lived in north Arkansas, so perhaps he was at Devil's Den.

My mom was an Arkansan, but she was located in the north central part of the state, near the White River. It is a pretty state.

Thanks, Mike! Well, I used to, but not so much any more. Am hoping to do the Choir trip to England and Scotland this June, but the tour leader is not sure I should (Choir Director also concerned). So far, I'm saying that if I go I won't do/see everything, but if I don't go I won't see anything. I've been there before, so can just sit out some trips.
