Epson "Printer in error state" issue

Looking for advice from someone with experience on how to fix a "Printer in error state" message on my Epson 440. I’ve done a search and seen a fix but would like info from someone in-the-know. My computer is a Dell PC desktop running Windows 10.

I solved my problem. The print job with the error message was stuck in the queue. After three attempts I was able to cancel it. Apparently I wasn’t waiting long enough for it to cancel the first couple times I tried it. Several other jobs in the queue cancelled immediately.

Good! I could never understand why it takes a printer so long to do things. What's going on in there? Is the electricity fighting demons along its route?

I just experienced the exact same issue yesterday. I finally got tired of waiting for it to cancel the job and unplugged the printer and went on to other business. I'll retry today to see if those demons inside the printer/computer are still waging war.

I unplugged mine too. It finally gave up, I guess. I was printing a 1 page PDF and it didn’t like it.
