Hi all i am looking at buying The Interfit EX150 MKII 2 head kit http://www.interfitphotographic.com/lighitng/Product%20Pages/EX150mkii.php for home studio work (portraits) but already have a canon speedlite 600ex-rt and canon speedlite transmitter st-e3-rt which i use with a softbox... my question is does anyone know of a way i can use this in conjunction with the interfit kit as the speedlite uses 2.4ghz and the interfit uses IR... by the way my camera is a canon 60d

I have SERIOUSLY been looking at this for a month now and have in fact recently placed another link here.

The EDX150s are unfortunately of limited power at 150ws, and to be honest the stands are light weight also you will find them rather limiting after time.

On a personal note I would buy ONE of these to use in conjunction with your trigger.

Which will also run off a battery if you want to go portable.

Get a back copy of Photo Plus Canon edition December 2011 or PM me and I can email you the full review.

What flash meter do you have, I use a Minolta Flashmeter4 usually about £100-150 on Ebay.

Personally I prefer flash units as they are much more portable, ok you learn to do without a modelling lamp, but you really do need a flash meter.

The other benefit of the setup I use is all battery/go anywhere non mains reliant.

You don't want to have the ned to shoot portraits and have to either ask to use others power supplies or not have a power supply.

Or perhaps buy a set of triggers shown in my item I posted a link for which will attach to your guns and any head

To answer your question...If the Interfit uses IR, it should be triggered by the flash output of your other units. :D

Get a set of wireless triggers, attach the sender to the camera hotshoe, one to the base of your flash and the other using the 2.5mm jack to the studeo flash head.

Use your Canon flash on manual using the RT if you are able.
(More consistent that way)
It should trigger the Interfit built-in slaves.
