I am Considering downloading Nikon NX Studio and would like to know how UHH users like this free software.
I tried it, found it clunky, limited and basically worthless for my needs.
Please note that I answer about my 'needs'.

It has limited functionality but for free it is definitely worth looking at. I use it every once in a while but prefer DxO PhotoLab 6.

I use it for my initial changes (colors are better rendered to my eyes), saving the changes as jpgs usually, then doing a little further editing in LR Classic, and or PS6 which have features not available in NX Studio, as needed. It has a learning curve, that just takes getting used to, like everything. You just have to make up your mind to use it till you get used to its idiosynchrocies. Remember, it is a relatively new software. Hopefully it will get better. I think you will like its color renditions. The spot repair tool needs improving, but is OK..., if done on a single photo at a time (not multiples).
I think it's quite good but I have a lot to learn. I don't even know how to save the file correctly right now. I did some cropping and save it but the saved file is still full not cropped.

What are your comparison options that NX Studio might replace or supplement?

I downloaded it and found it was far too slow for the purpose I use the Nikon software products. My use is to simply cull, inspect, grade and then open the nef files to be worked on directly into ACR/LR/PS of which I can do way faster in Nikon ViewNX.
That is not to say it's not an excellent editor if it serves your needs. I would suggest you download it and give it a trial, there's nothing to lose other than it will remove any old Nikon software you have operating.
It is the worst system of all. It tries to cover everything and does none well. Even the graphics suck, pale gray against slightly darker gray, miniscule letters and digits, very, very poor on-screen instructions. It is a role-model for what such a system should not be.

I keep a copy on my computer but don't use it much. I did some testing and what's good is that it really seems to be the same processing software that's in the cameras so you can use it to effectively re-create an SOOC JPEG. What's bad is that it really seems to be the same processing software that's in the cameras. You'd think they would take advantage of the extra processing muscle in a computer workstation and do a better job.

I currently have Photoshop Elements (2020 and 2018) on my computers but find that they cannot access RAW files directly from my newer camera bodies without an intermediate step to convert the files to TIFF. I don't know much about TIFF files and I don't do "heavy" editing and I use Windows folders to file my images. I don't think I'd get cost effective use from upgrading PSE programs and certainly don't do so much as to justify a monthly Adobe fee program.

PS. I have not downloaded it yet. I'm looking for some help to see if it's worth the effort to learn how to use the software.

The NX studio is the same workflow: start in Nikon, output TIFF, finish in PSE.
If you don't feel you do much heavy lifting, consider just full-res JPEG output from NX Studio and finish, if needed in PSE.
Note the comment above that NX studio is pretty much the processing of the camera, obviously with plenty of edit options to make it different than the camera. Is a JPEG output from NX Studio worse / better than a JPEG from the camera without the extra step? If you continue capturing in RAW, you can come back to the RAW in the future if you add software that edits the new(er) NEF files directly.

The only way to find out if it is worth it, is to try it. The basics are easy, and the more you play with it the decision will become clear whether to keep or delete it. I am approaching this as a hobbyist.
