This is the final update on my card error msg. Just got the camera back from Nikon via Service photo in Baltimore. $329 later every thing is fine. The card assembly was replaced and a few other checks done. Except for filing a claim thru my personel article policy with State Farm this issue is closed.

Was there a statement about problems?

The receipt says "replaced memory compression" along with some tweaks and adjustments and a firmware upgrade.

(I hate it when memory compressors go bad, hissing all over the place.)

Ah, yes. The old memory compression. That sounds like something they made up. 😂

"Introduced in Windows 10, memory compression is a feature that gives your RAM more breathing room to prevent your computer from lagging. Windows will turn on memory compression by default, and you could disable it if you please."

I second the compliments about Service Photo. We used to live in Baltimore years ago and Service Photo was my place to go, both when they were downtown and then later when they moved to Falls Road. The people who were there were great to work with then. If I had problems now, I would still take the 2 1/2 hike to them.

For 349 are you going to risk losing you homeowners insurance? Insurance companies do cancel for multiple claims.

My personal experience is that the [Insurance] carrier may pay the claim then call for a home inspection.

Even if they Don't raise their rates immediately, it may cost you far more than your claim to resolve the issues they uncover.
[New roof, electrical inspection, stairs & railings, the list goes on..]

And I "third" the compliments about Service Photo. There aren't many photography storefronts left, and this is one of the best. They are my go-to store for new and used equipment of all brands and advice on photography, all delivered with a friendly smile by a store full of knowledgeable staff.

The policy I have with State Farm has nothing to do with my home owners or car insurance.

Why State farm would be liable for your camera malfunction ????.

The camera malfunction was more of a accident than a simple malfunction. I either put a damaged card or messed up putting it in.
