I'm all for equality, but referring to a woman who cuts down trees as a lumberjill seems ridiculous. Along with that, it doesn't seem offensive to have "man" in a word - mankind, chairman, councilman, humanity, human. What's going to happen to "steeplejack," "hijacker," or the jack used to raise a car? These are simply terms that we use; they don't describe the gender of the person.
"See that man with the chainsaw, Mary Smith? Tell her she has a phone call."
"In the news today, a hijiller stole a truck full of makeup headed for Hollywood."
In my humble opinion, we have to do more than make ridiculous (in my opinion) word changes. We have to actually treat people equally.
Many times the word man is replaced with person or human. Humankind chairperson councilperson mailcarrier etc.
A car jack will now be called a car lifter.
Human -> huperson
Humankind/mankind -> personkind
Then what about female, does that change to feperson???
Yes, very stupid.
Next they'll be repealing the grammatical rule in English that an unknown gender is considered male.
But I suppose some have already done that.....

Yes, I've wondered about "female" and "woman."
I never gave up on the idea of "he" or "she" rather than "they." A person is obviously a woman, yet they still use "they." And I'm not talking about a confused-gender person. "They" is now used for everyone. It's obviously one person, yet they use "they." I refuse to comply.

"They" is
plural. But maybe it might be appropriate, if that person has a split personality...
I won't comply either.

Tragically/unfortunately, the woke beat goes on. It probably will not be long before all communication of any kind is disallowed - there will be nothing which can replace it! Of course, they then will turn to other things, as they are beginning to do now.

Mail carrier has been replaced with letter carrier because of the "sounds like"......

Isn't it ironic that the word HUMAN contains the word MAN also?
Personally, I am sick of pc language.

I've heard that might be changed to "Huling."

Not only that, but almost everything seems to “offend” someone (or group).
