I’m vacillating between upgrading my X-T2 to an X-T4 or X-T5 (for battery life and IBIS). If you have an X-T5, how is the noise at high ISOs from those small pixels vs the X-T4, and how is the AF in comparison?

This is not what you asked nor is it any of my business. But if I were you, if budget allows I would keep my X-T2 as a second body. I love my T3s, but wish I had not sold my T2.

Last November (2022), I bought the new Fuji X-T5 to pair it with the Fuji XF 16-55 F2.8 (non-stabilized) super zoom lens. Still have my Fuji X-T2 and X-T30, the former with Fuji XF 70-300 (stablizied) zoom and the latter with the wonderful Fuji XF 18-55 (stabilized) "kit" zoom. The X-T5 (40 megapixels) is a superb camera but, truth be known, the X-T2 and X-T30 (24 and 26 megapixels respectively) are hard to beat. I've compared the images from each of these combinations side by side and pixel peeped 'em all. Sure there's a difference but it can't be seen on a 21" computer screen until you enlarge to 200%.The X-T2 and X-T30 images are capable of enlargement to 30X40 prints; do I need more? The X-T2 and X-T30 images have been utilized by a local magazine printer who says the 24 and 26 megapixel images have great resolution for his printing purposes. Do I need more? I rented a Leica Q2 (47 megapixel full frame sensor) with its superb Leica 28mm f1.7 Sumulux lens twice from lensrentals.com (great outfit) and compared it with the Fuji X-T2 and X-T30. Again, the difference isn't really noticeable until 200% enlargement. Admittedly these are not scientific comparisons but I submit they are "real world" experiences. Now I DO use the X-T5 on most occasions for landscape work but for street photos the X-T30 and "kit" zoom are an awesome combination. Just my two cents worth.

Having recently purchased an XT-4 instead of an XT-5, I’m interested in this discussion. I wanted IBIS and longer battery life and questioned the benefits of more megapixels.

I purchased an xt5, traded in my xt2 kept my xt3 I see no improvement in image quality over xt3 or xt2 and I think it is too small and the off on switch sucks , Imo. Of course I am old. Still prefer my d850 and d750 Nikons for images.

Thanks - I have thought of converting it to IR. I REALLY like the camera and it’s almost new, but I’m developing a tremor and. could use the IBIS.

Great info! Some reviewers have panned the AF on the X-T5 compared to other models and I’m wondering about the high ISO noise performance - what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I went from an X-t3 ( with a 2-battery handgrip) to a X-t5, due to the IS feature and the allegedly longer battery life. Not sure how the IS actually works but battery life seems to be better. Still bought an extra one.

I agree that the on-off switch sucks (too small), and my camera came without a hardcopy manual (bought one on line!).

Would love to hear more about the stabilization program and how it's suposed to work.

I recently sold all my Canon equipment to go back to Fuji. Bought a X-T5 and H2S. I actually like the photos from the H2S best. It's easy to use once you get used to it not being reto.
