When I left Arches National Park, I followed the good advice of a park ranger to take Highway 24 to 12, a more scenic route to Bryce Canyon. It took me through Capitol Reef National Park where I stopped for a few photos along 12. I need to return to really explore Capitol Reef and to visit Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
Highway 12 led me into the mountains to look back from where I came before winding down to the small town of Escalante and then on to Bryce. Photos taken 2/22.

The park rangers always seem to know where the best scenery is. Great detour!
