I love astral photography and have done two workshops in Maine. Milky Way, star trails and of course amazing sunsets. My favorite instructor is not returning to Maine due to family concerns. I am looking for a multiday workshop in the May-June timeframe. Can anyone recommend a good outfit? I would have researched this a while ago but I just learned about his situation. Thanks for any help.

Hunt's Photo out of Massachusetts might be worth a look. They recently advertised a mid-winter workshop for The Maine Woods around Mt. Katahdin and Baxter State Park.

John Tunney lives on cape cod and does workshops in Maine. I have taken many classes from him and does a great job. I know he has workshops scheduled, if you go to johntunney.com you can see what he has scheduled.

John Putnam, who lives on Mount Desert Island, has a night skies workshop coming up August 12-16, 2023. He runs his own workshops and does some for Down East Magazine, and also teaches in the Out of Chicago and Out of Acadia workshops. He is an outstanding instructor and great person, and the programs usually sell out well in advance.

Since he is local and also does private sessions, he might be able to do something in your time frame. He has a strict cancellation policy for the scheduled workshops, but is more flexible on the private sessions, which can be an advantage for something as weather dependent as night sky photography!
