I just noticed that eight of the ten items for sale here today are Nikons. Are folks abandoning Nikon?

I converted a Nikon 1 N1... to IR full spectra. Virtue, Mirrorless so focus on sensor, interchange able lenses, and 1" sensor. Cost with lens is about $120. The conversion was easy the second time!

Why not just ask the sellers why?

I have never asked anyone why he is selling something - car, camera, computer, collie. "I'm sick of this car. It doesn't start when the temperature goes below 70, there's a problem with the A/C that they could never fix, and there's a clunking noise when I drive over 40. Any other questions?"

I took the original post as a troll and gave a similarly silly response.

Actually, I wasn’t trolling at all; I was genuinely interested why there were so many Nikon-related products for sale.

In my early days here I closely followed what was for sale and noticed a high ratio of Nikon vs everything else.
I would doubt that has changed much with time.

Maybe because there are so many more Nikon shooters who are upgrading to mirrorless?

The day you posted your ?, most Nikon sellers were or had upgraded to Z9 or other Nikon mirrorless. The main seller of Nikon equipment did not indicate why.

I've been using Nikon since my first digital camera (a Nikon D70). All cameras have their advantages/ disadvantages, but I've always preferred Nikon color.

I upgraded to the Z9 and sold 16 of my Nikon lenses I used on my D850. I kept my Tamron 15-30 2.8 G2 the 24-70 2.8 G2 70-200 2.8G2 and Tamron 35 1.4 and Nikon 105 1.4 E and the nifty 50 1.8. I did get the Nikon 24-70 f/4 S version to try out. I may let some of the lens go but torn if it's a good idea and move slowly to all Z lenses. These lenses do work flawless with the Z9 with the adapter. Tough decisions

Not universally true…but generally speaking the Z lenses are lighter and smaller than their F mount equivalents…and it’s worse once you put on the FTZ. And also generally true is the Z lenses are generally better IQ than the F mounts, partially due to the larger throat at the body and closer distance to the focal plane…but mostly because of better optical design software that can run on todays more powerful computers than in days past. Also more controls generally on the Z lenses…and many including myself find that some F lenses, the 500PF in particular…have better AF performance on a Z body. One good reason to upgrade to Z lenses is that most of them have the same sets of controls where the F are more limited.
