I think you're out of luck. I posted a question about that.

Adobe is not the problem.

The problem is trying not to move when the world moves.

My grandfather always said, "Kid, if you don't ride the waves of change, they'll wash over you. You don't wanna drown, do ya?"

He owned a dairy in Central Illinois back in the 1930s and '40s, into the '50s. At the point where he saw the industry signal a radical change from personal delivery to grocery store sales, he sold his business to a competitor who used the same home delivery business model. They got stuck with the useless fleet of milk trucks, and he retired happy.

The big question is whether or not what you have or "had" was SUPPORTED CURRENTLY BY ADOBE. If not you are sunk. I bought a totally new copy of an old version for my old Windows--shrik wrapped with serial number. But Adobe plays games and the package serial number is not enough. To unlock the program you need to register with them. And the new copy of the version I paid over $80. on eBay was no longer on their supported list so is still locked. I tried to get my money back from the woman on eBay who simply said---"sorry sucker." So I have a new copy which I thought would work on my old Windows. But I expect it will not help you either. AVOID ADOBE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Unless you are using some one else's money.--------ew

There is a reason that I hate Adobe. I got to where I was only using Photoshop for correcting perspective on buildings, and when ACDSee got layers and perspective correction. It was bye-bye to PS-6. It's either their way or the highway, and they know that they have many of us locked in.

I have a friend who runs a dairy with both a farmstand and a home delivery business. It's a limited niche, but he does well with it. Amazon has pumped up the home delivery demand in general (I don't think they sell milk other than through Whole Foods). Of course now even the grocery stores are starting to offer home delivery.

They have a good product and know it. I don't think Photoshop locks people in. There are alternatives for photo editing. But Photoshop covers Graphic Design also, and that is quite handy if you have a business and do some of your own advertising. And the price is right for me. YMMV.

I suspect Lightroom is more likely to lock people in with their DAM.

David's most recent image post includes EXIF data saying LR4.4. That's probably going to be a problem for purposes of finding the same install file. Or, even offering an update due to lack of a newer s/n number in his Adobe profile.

I post images from many years in the past. My most recent LR was LRC by subscription and got monthly updates. I'm still paying for LRC even though at the moment I can't use it.

Then, what version specifically are you seeking? If it was the current version, do you just need to download and save the install file and port over to the old equipment?

One would think so, but Adobe says it can't download the current LRC to my computer because it is running an old OS (Win7Pro). I have to upgrade to at least Win10 to get a replacement.

The solution is obvious.
Upgrade to Win10 while it's still supported.
Otherwise you'll be TWO operating systems behind.

I may be able to help you. Send me your email address, and I will let you know what I have. However, I believe that your best recourse is to upgrade to Win. 10 and then continue with your LRC subscription.

Whole grocery stores offering home delivery made lots of sense during the pandemic. For some people, it still does.

I don't think driving dairy-only delivery trucks around makes a lot of sense in 2023. It probably seemed to in the first half of the 20th Century. That's how we got our milk until the late 1960s. We had an insulated box on a shady porch that the "milkman" would load up on Tuesday and Thursday. Before plastic jugs and paper cartons, we had returnable bottles with "pogs" in the tops of them. Dairies would sterilize and reuse the bottles (sample below). Some of those bottles lasted decades in circulation. After the Tylenol cyanide scare, no one would dare think of using something as primitive and hackable as a milk pog to seal a reusable bottle.
