This is ongoing.

The emails come from Marcin Zieliński LL.M.

This is what the latest says:

Final Reminder: Anthony Ayiomamitis / Paul Handover (641-00743)

Are you still willing to settle this matter amicably?

Otherwise, my client instructed me to perform further legal action in court. If anything changed and you are interested in negotiations leading to a swift, amicable agreement, let me know as soon as possible. I’m afraid this matter is proceeding already too long without any substancial outcome.

Once the letters are in court, further costs cannot be avoided anymore.

****

I am not sure what to do. My wife and my son say ignore it and delete the emails. But has anyone else received these emails from him or something similar?

Any ideas?

I don't see anything about copyright theft. Did previous emails claim that? Any details doubt the photo that was stolen? I don't think people are notified of lawsuits by email. You would probably be served by a process server. I would report it as spam and delete it.

Earlier emails said it was copyright theft and as far as l was concerned completely false. Thank you for your advice and I shall follow it.

When the first email arrived it referred to an image that I had on my blog that was free to post and I replied to that effect. I then deleted the email.

Loads of links that were displayed. The last I read, namely https://easydns.com/blog/2019/09/16/fechner-law-of-germany-threatens-to-bring-criminal-complaint-for-shielding-client-privacy/ recommended ignoring it and that there had been no record of anyone being sued in the USA.

As mentioned, legal firms aren’t going to be using email. Neither does the IRS. When I get that crap, if I’m in a particularly good mood I delete it. If I’m in a bad mood I reply “xxxx you”. Sometimes those come back as undeliverable. If so, you can be assured it’s a scam and most likely they had a link on the original email that you were supposed to click on. Don’t EVER click on the links, even if they do have an authentic looking logo or such. If in doubt, go to the company’s official website and either contact them through that or use the phone number. And don’t call the number given to you on the email because they go directly to a scammer playing the part of a legitimate person. And DO NOT volunteer any information! If they claim to be your bank and ask for your bank account number, tell them to read it to you and you will tell them whether or not they are right. And if they aren’t hang up. Make them give you any information that is exchanged. If you think they are legitimate, tell them to hang up and you will call them back. But DO NOT use any phone number they give you. Look in the phone book if necessary but don’t use their number or the one that comes up on caller ID.

I usually Google the provided phone number. You'd be surprised what comes up sometimes...

Hi Paul, I'm also being harassed by this supposed German lawyer, Zielinski. I've received three emails threatening to take me to court in Germany (I'm in the US), which is getting annoying. According to them, I posted a copyrighted image on my blog, thereby infringing on some photographer's copyrights. I always use creative commons licensed images, but maybe this image did have a copyright; I am not sure. In any case, I immediately removed the image and replied to this Zielinski lawyer that I had removed it and to leave me alone. He won't.
Just wondering, whatever happened in your case, is he still harassing you?

I asked around and it was a scam, a rather sophisticated scam, but a scam nonetheless. When I receive the next email from Zielinski it will be immediately deleted. Apparently if it was a genuine infringement of a person's copyright then you (and I) would have received the details by letter. I, too, did the same in the early days in deleting the file.
