If you look at the trees maybe it is just wide angle lens effect.

I too, love the setting. We visited there in January 2017, not too bad at -20F. And did see the Aurora while there! BEAUTIFUL area for sure! .. but have no desire to live near Fox, AK. lol, it was -50 the week before!
