55 years ago I found this in the attic of the new living quarters my mom and dad bought. It appears to be from a high school. I was told then it was like a school ring for seniors, but this was put on the belt of the boys and worn around. I don't know if that is true or not.....So, has anybody ever seen one of these? Anybody Know what this is? Or how it was used? Is it worth anything? Any information would be appreciated. Jerry? Frank? Ha, I just saw the manufacturer name on the back, this might be a watch fob? how was it used?
I think it is a luggage tag.

Agree. Possibly from a school band instrument case.
Here in Richmond VA. there is a Benedictine High school.
This probably doesn't help.
Looks like a fob for a pocket watch. The watch goes into the watch pocket, and the fob hangs outside of the pocket making the watch easier to remove from it’s resting place. I’ve got a couple that I use from time to time.

There are a couple on ebay. one BHS like yours from 1913. Another similar from Boston College 1916. Described as "luggage tag"
I'd never seen a watch fob with a leather strap, but if you Google "watch fob with leather strap" loads of them show up similar to yours.
Muddyvalley, Grump's Photos, you guys are correct it is a pocket watch fob. I found some earlier on line, I will look for the ones on EBay. This one is from Brighton High School. Definitely not a luggage tag. Thank you all For your responces.

This is definitely a watch fob! Besides having a large camera collection I have a large Pocket watch collection and have more than 50 watch fobs. A lot of them were giveaways from equipment companies like Catapiler and Loren cranes etc. Fobs as stated above were used to enable easy removal from your watch pocket and to aid in not dropping your watch.

What you have is a :watch fob". A pocket watch would be attached to the leather strap. Watch went into your pocket...the fob hung outside the pocket.
I had a similar bag tag from a nice golf course in Cabo San Lucus about 15 years ago. But given the year and the initials, I agree that it is a luggage tag, maybe given to seniors in anticipation of travel to colleges after graduation.
