Who is the Nikon D3 not ideal for?

While this Nikon D3 is not ideal for my photography, let me just say that I have purchased other items from Thomas and they have consistently been far better than advertised or expected.

I have no need for your camera, but here are a few comments: I love the "wet" woman it is really a delight!. I am sorry to hear that your health conditions will keep you indoors. Best to you!
Poul.

I whole heartedly agree with nervousness comments.

Items I've purchased from Thomas have consistently exceeded his descriptions. He us a true working professional...the real deal.

If I was in the market for a D3 I would not hesitate to purchase this camera from Thomas.

I couldn’t have said it better. If Thomas says it’s in good shape, then it’s in great shape.

Thank you so much for your very kind words and glowing recommendation Richard (nervous2)...
You are a true gentleman and now a friend/colleague here on UHH...

btw I'm so envious of your residence (in Utah) likely one of the most scenic beautiful and aesthetically endowed state in our country... So many epic National Parks... I had the pleasure of frequently visiting there when I worked in the Over-thrust region of western Wyoming doing petroleum exploration with Chevron in the late 1970's. Having lived much of my entire life in Maryland & Virginia I was awestruck at the grandiose aura of Utah... I can certain understand why you returned home after working in Chicago & NYC.

And yes my Nikon D3 is not likely on your radar... it's a highly unique tool that very few here on UHH would find ideal, only those who shoot events understand and cherish what it brings to the table...

Again many thanks and all the best on your photographic journey Richard...

Amator21 thank you so much for your stellar reflections on Samantha's aquatic endeavors...
She is a colleague, a very dear friend and also our studio's resident MUA when I'm unable to cover this aspect.

Samantha is Agency Signed and very much at home on the Catwalks and Runways in our market.
At 5'11" and 115lbs Samantha is highly sought after for her finesse in Fashion (Catalog, Runway and Editorial).

Another of Samantha below...

Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation Bill (cruise4two)...
They are greatly appreciated and cherished... And yes I totally understand why you wouldn't likely be in the market for a Nikon D3. It is a very unique tool that is primarily germane for Sports/Action and Wedding Events... also Fashion Catwalk and Editorials.

A Nikon D700 is likely a better choice for most enthusiast on UHH however just don't for a moment think about shooting a D700 in the pouring rain... This is where a Nikon D3 takes to such an aquatic scenario like a duck to water... lol

Below are two images captured in the pouring rain with my Nikon D3 and the AF-S 200-400mm f/4G IF ED VR (two professional grade tools) that can go where enthusiast and advanced shooters simply can't. I have clients who expect that there daughter's performance on the soccer pitch to be captured regardless of weather conditions.

What I'm offer here is an opportunity to shoot a Pro FX Body at a bargain basement price...
Yes you can pick up a previously owned Nikon D610 FX body for roughly the same price I'm asking my Pro Body here...

I actually tried shooting League Soccer with a Nikon D610 and it simply couldn't handle the focus challenge of Sports/Action... After half a season I sold it back to B&H for a huge loss... Experience is a brutal teacher.

Oh, the D610 has the same with a Multi-CAM 4800 Autofocus Sensor Module as the D7000.
Only 39 focus points and a limited buffer capacity. But It's great for landscape though.

Thank you so much for the positive reinforcement here John (bikinkawboy) it is welcomed and definitely appreciated since I'm swimming upstream trying to market/sell my Nikon D3 on UHH... Not many commercial shooters left aboard...

I noticed that after Steve Perry left UHH participation on this site has pretty much been in a downward spiral...
Even the few Wedding Shooters whom I knew here (and were avid active members) have left also....

Hoping to find a new home for my Nikon D3... it's a workhorse that still has more than enough life left to outlast anyone who purchases it. I have to smile every time I see armchair photographer's talk about how absolutely great their mirrorless silent shutters are... I've rarely shot a Sports/Action event that I could even hear my shutter at 9fps lol Though I will be the first to admit that the contrast detect AF system on mirrorless is the "Cat's Meow"
Totally agree there... albeit the Z9 isn't an option for the Lion's share (including myself) since it's price is such that it's primarily "Out of Reach" for those of us who have to pay the bills with a camera...

That said, there appears to be many here who establish their persona via the price/brand they shoot.
Trust me I "get this" since I'm booked by Fashion Designers who rely on the same sort of folks...

Again many thanks John... I appreciate what your bring to this site...
Again all the best on your epic journey.

Thomas .. Your camera and the pictures of it and the other pictures look stunning. I’m sorry that you have health limitations and are limited to the studio. Though my UHH contributions and comments are few and far between I’ve been in the photographic field since 1966. You seem to be a gracious and knowledgeable person. Best of luck to you and I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Swiftly

Thank you so much for your wonderful positive reinforcement Swifty... It is deeply appreciated...
At this junction I've pretty much come to terms with my current limitation...

Have benefited especially from the timeless wisdom of Alexander Graham Bell:
“When one door closes, another one opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.”

To this end I no longer look back but instead look forward with much hope for what the future may bring.
"Only that day dawn to which we awake... the sun is but a morning star..." Henry David Thoreau

Again thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers Swifty...
And all the best on your photographic journey also...
