Thank you, Jack! You may recognize this BG as one of the texture/backgrounds you contributed the UHH texture Library. I have stretched, inverted, squeezed, and made countless color adjustments to a couple of your contributions in the past few months. These composites are still very much a work in progress for me and using a limited number of flexible and interesting backgrounds reduces the number of variables as far as aesthetic choices. The skill I am trying to develop is masking and blending the birds. I have saved all of the masks and I can go back and change the backgrounds of any of bird posts I have made in the past year or so. I am going to keep doing this until I get it right.

Very nice!! I never thought about changing the background like this, but you've inspired me to try! I have a kestrel picture that I took last week, against a plain white cloudy sky. That photo might benefit from a treatment like this.

Thank you, Patty. The Kestrel photo sounds like a very good candidate for this kind of play. Most of the files I choose have bland or even blown out skies. With a good selection and mask, you can work with all sorts of background possibilities. Have fun!
