The ice was melting on the Arkansas River in Oak Park in Wichita, KS. The sycamore was showing off its white bark like a lightning strike. Driving by on my way home from work, so it's taken by my iPhone 13 Pro Max (which does a pretty sweet job). The color version is nice too, but the monochrome was calling my name. Rock on, old man winter!
A good one, good eye to see the image! TFS

This would look good in the B&W section as well.
I know how it feels to be "grabbed" by a photogenic scene whilst innocently driving by minding your own business. I love the capturing of the white, reaching arms of the tree, stark against the background dark tree line, over the melting ice-islands in the pond. What I did after the download was hone in on those arms until the bland, upper part of the tree was cropped out, and the foreground ice was gone, turning the vertical, portrait composition into a landscape horizontal, still including foreground ice islands under the stretching white branches. (Try it and see if it makes a great photo even better.)
Nice subject, nice b&w! Enjoyed!
very nice. Also goes to show that the best camera is the one you have at the time.
I tried it and I liked it too. Thanks for the comments and suggestion. Much appreciated!
