Probably my favorite Corvette year with the 283, which IMHO is the best small block Chevy ever produced. It had enough power to enjoy without the excesses of power today.

Great photo of a beautiful car. Too bad he couldn't get MM 1956 for his plate.

Just a tad nicer than the 1956 Vette I had in 1971! Of course, I only paid $750 for it before putting a $150 paint job on it and installing a 350 hp 350 c.i. engine and 4spd out of a wrecked '71 vette ($200). I later traded the soft top for a hardtop with a friend. Terrific acceleration, but terribly uncomfortable to ride in. That said, the '56 (and '57) models are still my favorites as far as styling and simplicity!

Excellent car and excellent shot. I hope the car was stationary-if not the driver appeared to be rubber necking (my wife accuses me of that all the time!)

Looking at the tread on the tire, the car appears to be stationary.

Turn any Corvette upside down and it can be used as a boat.
