Thanks Yssirk, comments like yours encourage me/us to keep challenging ourselves (and avoid GAS). Let's keep shooting.

Your B&W images are quite stunning. I'm impressed. Your darks are rich but also have seperation in tonality. Many of the B&W images posted on this forum appear muddy whereas yours are rich with plenty of contrast without blowing out the highlights. Would you mind sharing your processing techniques with us. Many of us could benefit from your skill level.

Hi rcarol...Thanks for the complimentary comment.....No problem here and there are no secretes. I'll edit what I had posted earlier in the thread, but by no means should these be consider a standard and the shoot wasn't planned. I hope this will offer some suggestions for you. Here's the modified version of the earlier post:

"Full disclosure and disclaimer: I shot these while fighting off a severe GAS attack! My quick remedy... explore the full capabilities of current equipment by experimenting with unused settings a setting for HDR and ISO set to natural (an in camera setting). I also adjusted the exposure compensation a few +plus clicks and watched the histograms. Expose for highlights, not shadows (learned that on UHH and on YouTube) The HDR setting might not be on every camera...(it's missing on a couple of my others). I'm usually a Fuji shooter, but a in this case I used old pocket camera (Canon G16 / 12MP)with Vivid color film simulation. For PP I used LR Classic, converted to b/w with Nix Silver Effect Pro 3......).
The remedy works for me and helps keep the money in the bank"...(sometimes) and may not recommended for everyone :
